D-Rex video enhancement unit at NAB
Kaga Electronics will be demonstrating the D-Rex live video enhancement unit at NAB 2008, 14-17 April, Las Vegas.

D-Rex is the result of a co-development between Apical, Storenet Corp and Fuji Television. Based on Apical's image processing cores iridix, sinter and temper, it provides video engineers with a new, powerful set of tools for the enhancement of real-time 10-bit HD-SDI video content.

One feature, based on iridix is the ability to digitally illuminate with white light an underlit subject without affecting a properly lit background. A wide range of functions for tonal range, colour correction and noise reduction is provided.

Application areas include outside broadcast, live news studio and editing/post-production environments.

The D-Rex is manufactured in Japan by Storenet Corp.
