» AOI Technology Inc, a fabless semiconductor company based in Japan, is demonstrating Apical's iridix image processing technology on its MARIC (Multi-format Advanced Real-time Imaging and Codec processor) configurable core at ESEC 2006 in Tokyo, 28-30 June 2006.
AOI Technology is a joint venture formed by Olympus and ITX Corporation to develop and market configurable or dynamically reconfigurable IP cores for a variety of applications including imaging and communications.
AOI has implemented Apical's image processing IP engine for mobile displays on its MARIC platform, which will be demonstrated on the booth (13-30) at ESEC. The IP is designed to strongly improve video and still image capture and display on camera and mobile display devices via dynamic range, color and local contrast correction and enhancement.
AOI's implementation takes full advantage of the benefits of the configurable architecture of the MARIC IC platform.
